It starts just like the rest of them Clothing shrugged and bleary eyes Doubting Thomas, slippering awake Stops and stairs, not yet for the day

Half-made choices mingling, mangling Teaspoon stirs, marmalade jars Shrieking gadgets sound the charge Curtains swish, to let in the day

Flick the latch, hair, crisp air Coat and keys, shoes now tied Practiced purpose, best foot forward Long stride, now set for the day.
