CIO P2P
2006-10-18
I picke this up from Vinnie Mirchandani's blog:
Charles Zedlewski (of SAP) sent me this quote after reading my "elephant hunter" post
"In the 1970's when CIO's wanted to know what to buy, they asked IBM.
In the 1980's when CIO's wanted to know what to buy, they asked Andersen Consulting.
In the 1990's when CIO's wanted to know what to buy, they asked Gartner.
In the 2000's when CIO's want to know what to buy, they ask each other."
I thought this was both simple, but very profound - it implies - and this is something that I am seeing - that CIO's are starting to take control of their own destinies. Unsure what to add without sounding patronising, but all for it.
