Symptoms of Oblivion
2006-05-10
A blonde-haired girl sits on the London tube. In her left hand, she holds a latex-covered iPod. In her right, a grande Starbucks. Next to her, a middle-aged Japanes lady is consulting an opened, silver deviice. It looks more advanced than the norm, perhaps a simpler version may one day become available in Western shops.
In the toilets in the Hilton hotel at Paddington station, a man is urinating. He is holding his Blackberry with two hands, his thumbs tapping out a message.
They are all oblivious.
