Going back to a dual boot PC

D'y know, I feel a bit gutted about this but the screen freezes have got the better of me - and I just want to be able to use a computer without ... all ... the ... interminable ... pauses. So, I'm reinstalling XP on my primary machine, and sticking with Ubuntu Linux on there as well.

Essentially, if I want to use virtualisation in Linux, its got some kind of conflict on my machine with the graphics controlling software (not sure which bit).
