Write as you speak

Write as you speak

It has struck me just how many posts on LinkedIn seem to be written by AI.

Like this one—only it isn’t.

I wrote it. Just like that. I even inserted the em-dash.

It’s hard to write like AI. But not impossible.

The question is, why bother? And if there is no reason, why ask AI to do it? Is it to save time? Or effort?

Written communication creates a connection between two personalities. Change the personality, and you change the nature of the connection.

From personal, to contrived.

An AI-written post is just a bit more forthright, more earnest.

And less authentic. It’s like that other AI-written post you just saw, from someone completely different.

That messes with the mind, and creates distrust.

Authenticity can’t be auto-generated, even by a multi-billion node probabilistic executable algorithm.

People care less about whether you say things well. They care more that it’s you saying them.

So, write as you speak as you write, it’s that simple. And can be as fast.

Does this matter to you? If so, and if you value authenticity, live it.

Share who you are, not some artificially created version of yourself.

“What do you think?”

P.S. Sure, bring in AI for the grammar check, why not.
