No Great Epiphany
Then it becomes something you hadn't considered before
It floats on the edge of a place that you hadn't been to before
Sounds in your head that are proving increasingly hard to ignore
Shadows and lights, suggestions of pictures that you've seen before
Your focus is clear but obscuring the things you try hard to perceive
Too many noises and sounds to distract from the tremors beneath
Looking around and all seems so normal, making you question belief
Of whether there's anything else, beyond a imagined conceit
But still it is troubling, even as it remains outside your grasp
Your consciousness bubbles with questions you never dared ask
The tip of your tongue is a place for your thoughts to accumulate, at last
A safe space with the grace to be up to the task
And so in a moment, your brain turns from darkness to light
A realisation, a clicking together of pieces. No great insight
But perhaps a minor epiphany, not deep or profound. Despite
The absence of any great wisdom, at least you are freed of your plight.
