National Disgrace
National Disgrace 12/7/2021
It's a national disgrace
Not the boys that kicked a ball,
That did their best,
That stood proud and tall before they crumbled
Not the decisions made
The should he, shouldn't he?
Despite taking a nation to the top
Stoic till the end, taking the pain of defeat
No, not them
But the armchair warriors who never left their backsides
That who somehow feel they have a right
To kick their own team when it's down
Not share the plight
And worse, to claim authority
On who should represent
This highest-level loss, unleashing abuse without relent,
Pent up hatred waiting for its moment to be spent
Small-minded, slack-cocked wankers with nothing else to say
But, “I didn't ask for this,” when it didn't go their way
The send-them-back facade barely able to disguise
That in an all-white nation
There would still be fuckers
That saw hate as its own prize
The bullies and the bastards
Who would single out whoever they could find
To bear the brunt of ignorance
Borne of small minds that are, in turn
So easy to manipulate
By powerful actors
From the state and in bodies corporate
Their conspirators never letting on that
Even as in smoke-filled rooms are their decisions made
It's this jingoistic audience
That is being played.
