Getting Away With It

Getting Away With It

Jon and Simon wander through music, tech, memories, tangents, and the occasional existential moment. Unscripted, unplanned, and unquestionably something.

Episode 1: Relaunch Episode

The fantastic relaunch episode... was unfortunately lost due to operator error. So here we have - a relaunch episode. Covering Bitcoin and other tech, War On Drugs, High Flying Birds, Yes and some other music, the tarmac outside Ed O'Brien's house, dry stone walling, the screams of baby rabbits and a smorgasbord of bits and bobs, in one carefully packaged conversation. Or something. Well, at least it's here.

Episode 2: Fit enough?

A journey through the vagaries of what it means to lose a pound, how heavy drinking is a great way to give up smoking, and other adventures in the journey to immortality. Or something.

Episode 3: Pre-Christmas ramblings

Bitcoin update (and does money exist anyway)… Branson, Sugar, Trump and the illuminati… real cream, imaginary milk, Dale Vince and dreadlocks… Eden and Venus Projects, Dom Joly and ringtones… experiences vs possessions… present shopping… stamp collecting, puzzles, dry stone walling, Meccano, spirograph, stapling thumbs on Christmas morning… and a jingle!

Episode 4: The Hardware Store

Corkscrews and dollies, crap lighting, black slippers, drones, rat poison, wooden mushrooms, wine coolers, chainsaws and teasmades, knobs and knockers, health and safety and fireworks… a Santa toilet seat and an apology. And a flat cap.

Episode 5: The Antiques Emporium

Jack Vettriano, string pictures, Captain Mainwaring ashtrays, early plastic globes, smallest guitar case in the world, markets, Poundland, shut churches, idiot drivers, books and crap games—and getting sorted for Christmas.

Episode 6: Post-Christmas Blues

Manflu and weak tea, ukulele cases, perfectionism, 10,000 hours, tricky chords, Apple Watch, Google Home, Arkansas, Raspberry Pi, Intel bugs, and Zelda. Pure ramble fuel.

Episode 7: Post-Lechlade Festival Blues

The morning after the night before… beer tent headliners, strange campers, barfing waltzers, Huawei and Google, scanning skeletons in concrete, tech giants, and a poem from Simon.

Episode 8: Henry V at The Barn

Jon finally drags Simon to The Barn Theatre. To the surprise of no one, he loves it. A thoroughly modern Shakespeare experience.

Episode 9: The Long-Awaited Episode 9

Lockdown anxiety, international affairs, personal scars, great music. No headers or footers—just raw and real.
